- Plan your path from work permit to permanent residence
Common questions
How long does an LMIA take? Most LMIAs are processed in 30โ80 business days, depending on stream and region. Global Talent stream files are processed in about 10 business days.
Can I bring my family? Spouses of TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 workers usually qualify for an open work permit. Dependent children may attend Canadian schools without a study permit.
Will a work permit lead to PR? Often yes โ most Canadian work experience qualifies you for the Canadian Experience Class under Express Entry, or for a Provincial Nominee Program.
