Sponsorship categories
- Spouse or common-law partner
- Dependent children
- Parents & grandparents (PGP, when invitations open)
- Adopted children & other relatives (limited circumstances)
Spousal sponsorship
We handle both inland and outland spousal sponsorship โ and recommend the right one based on your situation.
- Inland sponsorship keeps the applicant in Canada with an open work permit during processing
- Outland sponsorship processes through the visa office responsible for the applicant's country and is often faster
The application package requires extensive relationship evidence โ photos, communications, joint financial accounts, statutory declarations from family. We prepare a complete narrative of the relationship from courtship to marriage and address common officer concerns proactively.
Dependent child sponsorship
Children under 22 (or older if they've had a continuous dependency due to a physical or mental condition) can be sponsored as permanent residents. We handle the application alongside or after spousal sponsorship.
Parent & Grandparent Program (PGP)
The PGP runs as a lottery โ IRCC issues a limited number of invitations to apply each year. We help:
- Submit interest-to-sponsor forms during the intake window
- Prepare financial documentation showing 3 consecutive years of LICO+30% income
- File the full sponsorship and PR application once invited
For families that don't receive a PGP invitation, the Super Visa is the practical alternative.
Income requirements
Most sponsorships have no minimum income requirement โ except parents and grandparents, where you must meet LICO + 30% for three consecutive tax years.
Use our sponsorship calculator to check whether you meet the income threshold.
Common pitfalls
- Missing or inconsistent relationship evidence โ the #1 reason for spousal refusals
- Failing to disclose prior marriages or undeclared dependents
- Sponsor undertakings still in effect from prior sponsorships
- Misreading the dependent-child age cut-off
We handle these issues proactively so your file moves through processing without an officer follow-up.
